A Blurb by MAX TIMBS

PEACES was Rob Timbs third album which was released on audio cassette in 1979. He wrote, played, arranged, sang, recorded and produced all the songs on this album. Rob recorded them on a 4 track TEAC reel to reel recorder in the lounge room of his home in Blackwood. The cassette cover photo was taken near his childhood home in Torrens Park.

He was a self-taught musician, taking on many different instruments which were used extensively on recordings of his twelve albums. His songs were filled with deep thoughts and lyrics that reflected on human behaviour and the work of God in the world.

Rob was born in Gosport, Hampshire, England in 1954 and migrated to Australia when he was five years old. He grew up in Torrens Park, Adelaide and attended Scotch College.

During the 1980’s and 90’s, Rob travelled South Australia with 'United Christian Forum' and 'Schools Ministry Group SA', participating in High School ‘Christian Option programmes’. He also accompanied 'God's Squad Melbourne' in mission outreach, connecting to many young people with his music.
